The Welcome Home Project is a community collaborative connecting nonprofits and businesses to help families in need of basic supplies for their new home after leaving a homeless situation. People sometimes find themselves in situations that leave them without stable housing and furnishings for their home. Examples include families fleeing violence or abuse, youth aging out of foster care, veterans, and formerly incarcerated individuals actively participating in a re-entry program.
We help families with kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom items to help relieve the stress of “starting over” in a new home. When the family obtains a safe, stable place of their own, we are there for them to provide a Welcome Home Package of items that are personalized according to their needs. These include: small kitchen appliances, towels, glasses, cookware, dishes, eating utensils, blankets, sheets, towels, pillows, and more. Sometimes we also have furniture such as beds, dressers, sofas, etc.
HOW IT WORKS
· We purchase and/or accept donations of new home goods for the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, cleaning supplies, paper products, laundry supplies, and hygiene kits.
· Furniture is available in limited quantities and priority is given to clients who are transitioning to permanent housing (NOT transitional housing or temporary arrangements).
Each Welcome Home Package is customized for the family's needs
We have dedicated our lives to making a powerful difference helping others for over thirty years by strengthening families in need, counseling the brokenhearted, and assisting homeless individuals and families.
We envision a community in which all individuals and families have safe, stable, affordable housing that meets their needs.
